[PIC] When is the best time to introduce goggles to my kids?
Published: Wed, 11/09/22
Hello friend,
The best time to introduce kids to swim goggles is after they're comfortable spending lots of time underwater. In fact, a good portion of each swim lesson should be conducted without
goggles.
This method would prepare them if they were to fall into a pool accidentally. If they're already comfy without the goggles, then it'll be easy for them to self-rescue and not panic.
The goggles' sole purpose is to provide eye relief from prolonged chlorine exposure and ph imbalances, so they are worth trying.
And when you're ready to introduce your child to goggles, you may find they reject them. So, in that case, to get them used to the goggles, start by having them wear them for short periods of time while they're in the pool.
You can also try letting them wear them during other activities, such as bath time, so they can get used to the feeling of having something on their face.
Once they're comfortable wearing goggles, you can gradually increase the time they spend wearing them.
After acclimating their kids to goggles, some parents have shared with me that if their kids enclosed it their way, they would be donning their goggles 24/7. Kids are so funny. They crack me up.

My Favorite Goggles for Kids
I've tried several brands and found that Speedo Skoogle goggles are awesome for kids. They're very affordable and durable, and they seem comfortable since I get no complaints from my students.
Even though this particular goggles brand is intended for 3 to 8-year-olds, I have found that they also fit the 2-year-old child more often than not.
